Well, I have two Bichon Frises and we mostly chose them because they are supposed to be hypoallergenic and I have bad allergies but love dogs. They haven't bothered my allergies and i love them so we made a good choice.
I went for Shelties. At the time I wanted a fairly lively dog that wasn't too big and wasn't too small. They also rate high on the intelligence scale. I have 2 now, in retrospect these guys may be a little to smart. Yes you can train them easily but they only listen if they think there's someting in it for them as a treat.
yeah they are brite dogs but they are suppose to work for the shear love of your apraisl. not saying there bad or anything like that , there just smart dogs they gotya were they want u .lol
I was going through a divorce and had to live by myself. I wanted a dog that would be off-putting to anyone who wanted to take advantage, so I looked for a GSD type dog. I also worked fulltime and would not be able to house-train, so I looked for an older dog. I also wanted to get a rescue dog as I wanted to help a dog that may not otherwise survive.
I found my perfect dog at the shelter and have never regretted it. He barks and stares down people when he senses I'm not comfortable around them. He is sweet and just wants to be loved on by people I am comfortable with.
